The Grade 1, 2, and 4 qualitative filter papers are equivalent to the Whatman grade 1, 2, and 4 papers. These laboratory filter papers are commonly used for filtration purposes when there is a need to separate solids or precipitates from the filtrate. Made from high-quality alpha-cellulose cotton, these standard lab filters are not designed for ashing.

Grade 2 is recommended for high retention and slow flow, suitable for retaining fine crystalline particles of 5-10 microns. Grade 4 is recommended for coarse retention and fast flow, suitable for retaining coarse and gelatinous precipitates of 20-25 microns.
